Our History

Minematsu-Honke Inc. was established as a Kamaboko fish cake maker, and we celebrated our 100th anniversary in 2016.

From Founding to Showa Era

1910
‘Mineya’ – a Kamaboko fishcake maker – is founded by Toemon Minematsu in Nishi Nakasu, Fukuoka, Japan.
1948
Opened a Kamaboko shop in Tenjin-Shintencho (the center of Fukuoka city).
Awarded several prizes: Suisancho Kaicho Prize (Fisheries Agency President Prize), Suisancho Chokan Prize (Fisheries Agency Commissioner Prize), Norin Suisan Daijin Prize (Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Minister Prize), and Mukansa Prize etc.
1979
Established Minematsu-Honke Inc.
Opened a hand-made udon noodle restaurant, ‘Minematsu-Honke Honten’, in Ryugeji, Fukuoka.
1983
Launched ‘Donmen’ udon noodles


From Heisei Era to Present

1998
Opened an udon noodle restaurant called ‘Minematsu-Honke Tenjin-fukubiru’ incorporating a Kamaboko shop called ‘Mineya’ in Fukuoka Japan.
Takahiko Minematsu inaugurated as sixth-generation president
2008
The 30th anniversary of ‘Minematsu-Honke Honten’ restaurant.
Reopened after a complete remodeling of ‘Minematsu-Honke Honten.’
2009
Opened ‘Minematsu-Honke Hakata Deitos’ in Hakata station
2014
Opened Kamaboko-surimi shop ‘Mine’s Kitchen’ in Konoha-mall, Fukuoka.
Closed ‘Minematsu-Honke Hakata Deitos’ in Hakata station
2016
Closed Kamaboko-surimi shop ‘Mine’s Kitchen’ in Konoha-mall, Fukuoka
2019
Closed udon noodle restaurant ‘Minematsu-Honke Tenjin-fukubiru’ due to the closure of fukubiru (Fukuoka building) related to the redevelopment of Fukuoka city.
